• Pay: $18.01 - $26.11 / hour

Summary

A demanding job that requires great interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with patients and other caregivers. This position is proficient in documentation in the Electronic Medical Record. The Pharmacy Technician II - Medication History also performs duties within the pharmacy including, but not limited to, medication distribution, intravenous admixture, pharmacy automation, and general pharmacy service operations. Under the supervision of the pharmacist, the technician assists in the preparation and distribution of medications utilizing automation, packaging, labeling, charging, compounding, data entry, and delivery. The Pharmacy Technician II - Medication History works under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists to obtain medication history information for patients admitted to the hospital, and is employed by Mosaic Life Care.

Duties

• Works with the pharmacist to determine patient selection for medication history by technician.
• Navigates electronic medical records to obtain prior to admission medication lists and other pertinent information.
• Interviews patients to obtain a current list of medications the patient is taking prior to admission.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma is required.
• Application with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern (Intern license required if currently enrolled in a school of pharmacy) is required. Registration with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician OR Pharmacy Intern (Intern license required if currently enrolled in a school of pharmacy) within 75 days of hire is required.
• Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred. Intravenous admixture, unit-dose, and pharmacy automation knowledge is preferred.
