Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Pharmacy Technician in Houston. You will assist the pharmacist with prescription preparation, answer customer questions, and process sales and transactions in a fast-paced clinic pharmacy.

The role requires 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience or completion of an accredited technician program, TS BP registration, and strong data entry skills. Competitive benefits available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or Certified Technician training.
• PTCB certification preferred.
• Able to read merchandise labels and invoices, answer questions by phone, and write prescription information.
• Able to communicate with customers to handle complaints and problems.

Responsibilities

• Count, pour, and package medication for pharmacist review.
• Enter prescription and patient info into pharmacy computer system.
• Retrieve medication from stock and stock OTC items.
• Assist customers at the point of sale and process cash transactions.
• Enter refill requests and coordinate with physician offices for authorizations.
• Answer and transfer phone calls; move stock and maintain OTC area.
