Job summary

Memorial Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our on-site team. You will work under the supervision of licensed Pharmacists to prepare and distribute medications, maintain drug inventory, and update patient records.

This full-time position requires a high school diploma or GED and either a formal pharmacy technician program or two years of pharmacy experience. Valid Illinois Pharmacy Technician license and PTCB/ExCPT certification (with specified exceptions) are required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma/GED required. Must meet one of the following: Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program or Two years pharmacy experience.
• Demonstrates competency in at least two areas: Sterile Compounding OR Technician, Purchasing/Buyer, Narcotic Technician, Medication History Technician.
• Current State of Illinois Technician license required. Pharmacy Technician Certification through the PTCB or ExCPT with exceptions.
• Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication, problem solving, basic math, and customer relations skills; basic computer knowledge; ability to push/pull/transport up to 50 lbs; stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and distributes medications and maintains drug inventory and patient records under the guidance of a licensed Pharmacist.
• Responds to medication inquiries and ensures accuracy of dispensed medications.
• Maintains patient records and ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations.
