Qualifications

Required Education:

• High school diploma (or equivalent), successful completion of a Florida Board of Pharmacy-approved pharmacy technician training program, and at least 18 years of age.

Required Experience:

• Six months of relevant, job-related experience.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
• FLBOP registration in accordance with Florida statutes.

Note: Must train fully in sterile compounding or medication histories to advance to Pharmacy Technician III/Cert (JC: 072405).

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Director/Pharmacy, Supervisor/Pharmacy, or a Pharmacist, performs technical and clerical duties for hospital-wide medication distribution. Responsibilities include maintaining confidential reports, data entry and retrieval, filling automated medication systems, procuring pharmaceutical supplies, delivering supplies to patient care areas, and managing pharmacy automation.

• Director/Pharmacy (JC: 039358), Supervisor/Pharmacy (JC: 024601), or Pharmacist (JC: 021702)
