HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Under the direct supervision of the Director/Pharmacy, Supervisor/Pharmacy, or a Pharmacist, performs a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system. Responsible for maintaining confidential reports, entering and retrieving data utilizing the computer system, filling automated medication dispensing systems with a supply of unit dose medications, procuring and filling requests for pharmaceutical supplies, and delivering supplies to patient care areas. A pharmacist gives specific instructions on all assignments and reviews the technician’s work for completeness and accuracy, or the technician performs tasks with inherent checks built into the nature of the work.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and successful completion of a Florida Board of Pharmacy (FLBOP) approved pharmacy technician training program and at least 18 years of age.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

  • FLBOP registration in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXXII (Regulations of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 465 (Pharmacy), Section 014 (Pharmacy Technician). CPhT credential from the PTCB or the NHA within one (1) year post-hire. NOTE: Must earn the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) within one (1) year post-hire to advance to Pharmacy Technician II/Cert (JC:072305).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six (6) to twelve (12) months of pharmacy experience.
