Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide distributive pharmacy services, assist the registered pharmacist, and support both outpatient and inpatient operations.

Responsibilities include processing medication orders, maintaining inventory, delivering excellent customer service, validating insurance coverage where applicable, preparing IV admixtures, and ensuring accurate documentation and workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or ExCPT.
• Completion of a pharmacy tech training program or 1 year experience.
• Registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee with PA Board before start date.

Responsibilities

• Processes medication orders, including entry, prep, and assembly for pharmacist check.
• Maintains pharmacy inventory according to policies and uses pharmacy systems.
• Provides customer service by taking prescriptions and documenting information.
• Validates insurance coverage and handles related cash/deposits as applicable.
• For inpatient: compounds, stocks, repackages, and prepares IV admixtures.
• Safe operation of equipment and central fill processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
