Under the direction of a staff pharmacist and/or pharmacy leadership team, the Certified Pharmacy Technician II supports safe, timely pharmacy services by performing technical and operational duties in accordance with established policies and applicable state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include preparing, packaging, labeling, and distributing unit-dose medications, outpatient prescriptions, and stock orders; delivering medications and supplies to patient care areas; and maintaining medication integrity through proper storage, rotation, and inventory control. The technician uses pharmacy information systems and departmental tools to document work, support work flow tracking and reporting as assigned, and may be scheduled in central pharmacy and/or specialized pharmacy areas based on operational needs. The role also includes organizing inventory, auditing medication storage areas, conducting safety and quality checks, escalating discrepancies, and handling controlled substances per policy. The technician may assist with onboarding and technical training and participate in departmental projects and quality/safety initiatives as assigned.
