Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Pharmacy Technician I to support the Pharmacy department at the Mexia facility. You will assist pharmacists, prepare outpatient prescriptions, restock medications, and help with inventory and distribution tasks in a compliance-driven environment.

The role requires current registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (Pharmacy Technician in Training or Registered Technician with PTCB).

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician in Training or as a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Board and PTCB.
• Preferred 1 year of pharmacy technician experience or completion of an accredited training program.
• Applicants must pass fingerprint background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff pharmacists with technical aspects of outpatient prescription work and medication distribution.
• Handle daily delivery of medications to residences or facilities as required.
• Restock vials/bags, repackage bulk drugs into unit-dose for inpatient use, and perform med-room inspections.
• Provide clerical support, process medication requests, and reconcile drug orders in the computer system.
