Responsibilities

• Performs general clerical duties including cash register operation, cash handling, member eligibility verification, bookkeeping, filing and general supply maintenance.
• Under supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, performs technical duties including entering prescription and allergy data into the computer, counting and packaging medication, labeling medication, and handling refill requests.
• Assists with inventory control, purchasing, pharmaceutical returns and maintenance.
• Serves members in a friendly, courteous and expedient manner to promote satisfaction and retention.
• Works with medical records and nursing staff to share prescription information.
• Orients and trains new pharmacy personnel on policies and procedures.
• Participates in patient education programs as appropriate.
• May take on specific clinical service responsibilities such as patient enrollment, telecommunication, and data collection for quality improvement.
