Qualifications

• No work experience required.
• Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy per state of employment requirements.
• Certification through CPhT or ExCPT within 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacist in preparation and distribution of medications.
• Accurately selects, prepares, and labels medications for patients including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assists with medication distribution tasks.
• Screens calls and routes as needed using proper etiquette.
• Procures inventory, checks outdates and maintains storage policies.
• Performs nonsterile compounding following USP standards where applicable.
• Performs sterile IV admixture using aseptic technique where applicable.
• Documents medication admission histories and data into the pharmacy system.
• May train technicians and extend personnel on policies and workflows.
