Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician I to assist pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately and safely. You will prepare and label orders, maintain drug-use records, and support I.V. preparation.

The role requires patient care across all ages and shifts, with standing, lifting and walking involved. Qualifications include High School/GED, active IDFPR license-tracked registration, CPhT or ExCPT certification, and at least 18 years old.

Qualifications

• Education: High School/GED.
• Licenses/Certifications: Pharmacy Technician license tracked by IDFPR (Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation).
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by PTCB or National Healthcareer Certification (ExCPT).
• Experience: At least 18 years of age.
• Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in ensuring medications are promptly, accurately and safely dispensed, delivered, charged and credited.
• Prepare and label medications to match orders.
• Maintain records related to drug use and charges.
• Proficient in dispensing oral medications and preparation of IV solutions.
• Duties may vary by assigned area or shift.
• Provide patient care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric ages.
