This is a flexible, fill-in role designed to support our pharmacy operations by providing supplemental coverage during planned and unplanned staffing absences.Pharmacy Operating Hours:Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMSaturday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Noon)Sunday: ClosedAs an on-call technician, shifts are assigned on an as-needed basis within our standard operating hours. While regular weekly hours are not guaranteed, this role is ideal for professionals seeking flexible scheduling.Job Description Summary:Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or dispensing prescriber and in accordance with standard departmental procedures, the licensed Pharmacy Technician I will perform activities and functions they are authorized to do, including assisting in dispensing, safe storage, and distribution of drugs and devices. The role must adhere to the organizational policies, procedures, code of ethics, and all licensing and accreditation standards. The Pharmacy Technician I must represent the organization’s mission in all actions and communications.Responsibilities:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist or dispensing prescriber. Ensure all work is checked regularly for quality control, following the standards of practice as outlined in the department operations manual.Complete training to gain basic knowledge of pharmacy operations, drug therapies, medication calculations, and preparation of medications for patient use.Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation is completed and up-to-date.Prepare prescriptions in compliance with pharmacy law and practice standards.Participate in pharmacy technician meetings, exchanging ideas to achieve department goals.
