Job summary

Cherry Health seeks an Outpatient Therapist to provide individual therapy to students at the Union High School Health Center. The role includes group facilitation, crisis interventions, and care coordination with internal and external providers.

Licensure in Michigan as LLMSW/LLPC/TLLP or eligible for a Development Plan within 30 days is required. Bilingual Spanish is preferred; part-time, onsite with benefits included.

Qualifications

  • Michigan licensure as LLMSW/LLPC/TLLP or eligible for development plan within 30 days.
  • CAADC certification or route to it may be required per program.
  • Experience in school-based behavioral health preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual outpatient therapy to students at Union High School Health Center.
  • Facilitate groups as needed and participate in case conferences.
  • Coordinate with community and funding sources for services.
  • Maintain timely documentation meeting CARF/CMH standards.
  • Assess/diagnose mental health and substance use disorders per DSM.
  • Develop measurable treatment plans and safety planning.
  • Participate in supervision meetings and required trainings.
  • May participate in on-call rotation and crisis intervention as needed.

May be responsible for facilitating groups. Provides services within the scope of practice of professional discipline and ethical standards of applicable national professional association. Must adhere to the organizational Policies, Procedures, Code of Ethics, and all licensing and accreditation standards of the position. Must represent the organization’s Mission in all actions and communications.This is a part time, benefit eligible Outpatient Therapist position working onsite at our Union High School Health Center (Monday, Tuesday and Friday 7:30a-4p). Providing individual outpatient therapy services to students. No on-call schedule.Bilingual in Spanish is preferredESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide evidence-based practices for individual, group, family, and/or couple therapy – which includes, at a minimum, Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.Coordinate with community, referral and funding sources to provide needed services.Maintain timely clinical documentation that adheres to CARF, Community Mental Health (CMH), and Agency standards.Assess and diagnose psychopathology including mental health and/or substance use disorders according to the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM).Create treatment plans that are measurable and follow evidence-based practices.Provide interventions, safety planning, and/or referrals for patients who are in crisis situations.Perform screenings, brief interventions, and referrals to treatment.Maintain current authorizations for service and complete utilization reviews as required by funding sources.Maintain Agency productivity standards.Work effectively with the agency’s Billing/Coding and Finance departments to resolve any authorization or payment issues for patients.Coordinate with internal and external primary care providers and psychiatrists to effectively treat the psychosocial and medical aspects of behavioral health disorders.Participate in case conferences and/or huddles.Complete all required training programs and share knowledge and skills with peers.Adequately prepare for and attend required supervision meetings.May be required to participate in on-call rotation. Frequent telephone and computer use, requiring manual dexterity for writing and computer use. Sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. May require bending, squatting, or kneeling and lifting up to 50 pounds.
