Pharmacy Technician I Atrium Health University City FT

Position Details:

  • Full-Time, Variable shifts from 0600 to 2300
  • Sign-On Bonus Eligible

Job Overview:

Assist registered pharmacists with technical duties related to preparing and distributing oral and intravenous medications under supervision.

Essential Functions include:

  • Filling and delivering medication orders for all age groups.
  • Answering and screening calls, referring to pharmacists as needed.
  • Performing cart fills, restocking, and processing charges and credits.
  • Compounding oral and sterile medications, including hazardous preparations following USP guidelines.
  • Documenting and delivering controlled substances.
  • Conducting medication reconciliation for hospital admissions.
  • Entering orders into the computer system independently.

Physical Requirements:

Work involves walking, standing, lifting, and pushing carts up to 50 pounds, with frequent bending and kneeling. Use PPE to minimize exposure to hazards, and perform manipulative tasks like typing and data entry. Must have good vision, hearing, and communication skills, and be capable of working rotating shifts.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Pharmacy Technician Board Certificate preferred.
  • 6 months pharmacy technician experience preferred.
