Job summary

MUHA's Medical University of South Carolina ambulatory pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist a registered pharmacist with dispensing medications, collecting and verifying patient and prescription details, and stocking supplies.

The role requires current SC Board of Pharmacy registration, certification (PTCB or ExCPT), and a high school diploma; training will be provided for new hires, with onboarding benchmarks and timelines.

Qualifications

• Current SCBOP registration is required and must be maintained.
• Must obtain and maintain PTCB or ExCPT certification.
• New team members as of 11/1/2023: within 6 months of hire.

Required Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP)is required and must be maintained. Must obtain and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)) certification:

• Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 1 year of 11/1/2023.
• New Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 6 months of hire.
New team members who are enrolled or will enroll in a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and/or recognized by PTCB, have 30 days post program completion to obtain certification.
