Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is looking for a Pharmacy Technician, Intermediate to join the Pharmacy Prior Authorization team. You will resolve outpatient pharmacy benefit coverage inquiries, address claim issues, and communicate formulary guidelines and alternatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and completion of a California State Board approved Pharmacy Technician training, certification, or degree program.
• Requires 3 years of pharmacy related experience.
• Basic understanding of internal procedures and policies needed to ensure effective execution of tasks.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Resolve outpatient pharmacy benefit coverage inquiries for external and internal customers.
• Address prescription claim processing problems and communicate formulary guidelines and alternatives.
• Work with the Pharmacy Prior Authorization team under supervision to support operational goals.
