Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking an Intermediate Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacy Prior Authorization team. You will resolve outpatient pharmacy benefit coverage inquiries and assist with prescription claim issues, communicating formulary guidelines and alternatives to physicians, staff, members, and brokers.

The role reports to the Supervisor, Pharmacy Services Operations and emphasizes leadership development, critical thinking, and building high-performing teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• California State Board approved Pharmacy Technician training, certification, or degree program required.
• Minimum 3 years of pharmacy-related experience.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule and weekends as required.
• Strong phone and verbal communication skills with active listening.
