Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Pharmacy Clerk to provide exceptional customer service and help maintain a safe, clean, and compliant store environment. You will assist pharmacists, manage phones and data entry, handle cash transactions, and support health and wellness initiatives while following HIPAA regulations.

The role involves processing prescriptions, stocking, and ensuring accurate pricing and customer care in a fast-paced setting across multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Meets minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.

Responsibilities

• Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
• Follow food safety, sanitation and safety regulations and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Understand and perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
• Follow guidelines on computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of medications, devices, supplements and supplies.
• Maintain clean and organized work stations and customer waiting areas.
• Count, measure and prepare specified product per company guidelines.
• Complete billing procedures adequately to assure best value to the customer and the company.
• Answer phones and triage calls and inquiries as appropriate.
• Adhere to cashier handling policies to prevent loss including electronic transactions.
• Provide a stellar customer experience during reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
• Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgement.
• Understand HIPAA and company policies.
• Support health and wellness initiatives.
• Handle legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries.
• Work cooperatively in high paced environments.
• Manage conflicts calmly and honestly.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Interact with minors and/or older adults responsibly.
