Job summary

Smith's Food & Drug Centers in Utah is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our Kroger-family store. You will assist pharmacists, ensure patient privacy, and deliver friendly, accurate service while dispensing medications and supporting health and wellness initiatives.

We value integrity, safety, and community care; you will maintain required registrations and licensure, follow HIPAA rules, and help train clerks and technicians in a safety-focused, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Completion of national registration, certification or licensure.

Responsibilities

• Support health and wellness initiatives.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies.
• Maintain current national/state registration, certification, or licensure.
• Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring a pharmacist's professional judgement.
• Provide stellar customer experience through reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
• Support coaching and training of clerks/technicians.
• Compound medications according to state regulations.
• Perform post fill audits to verify prescription information matches records.
• Support non-dispensing services via platforms, resources, and apps.
• Complete CLIA-waived screenings in accordance with laws and policies.
• Provide additional health and wellness services as allowed by regulators.
• Comply with sanitation and safety regulations and report unsafe conditions.
