Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications. The role reports to the supervising pharmacist and must adhere to all standards and laws governing patient safety and care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit registration by first day of work, including fingerprints for FBI background check.
• 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Tech II requires 1-year experience; 2 years preferred; Certification: CPhT.
• Tech III requires 3-year experience; Certification: CPhT.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications.
• Follow applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for care and safety of customers and patients.
• Work under the supervision of the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for patient care and safety.
