Job Responsibilities

1. Assists pharmacists in the preparation of pharmaceuticals, including filling medication orders, filling medication carts, preparing labels, and data entry.
2. Counts, packages, and labels medication orders for inspection by a pharmacist. Ensures secure storage of controlled substances.
3. Complies with departmental policies, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
4. Refills automated dispensing devices.
5. Assists with the preparation and delivery of IVs.
6. Maintains department records, reports, and files as required by law and policy.
7. Performs duties of the inventory technician when required.
8. Participates in educational programs, in-services, and workshops for professional growth.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
10. Performs back-up tape changes for the IS department when required.
11. Supports Johnson Memorial Health's Mission and Values.
12. Ensures all activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and policies, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.

Education, Experience, and Training

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required. Must maintain a current Indiana pharmacy technician license, be a student at an approved college of pharmacy with a current Pharmacy Intern License, or enter JMH's Indiana State Board of Pharmacy approved training program as a Pharmacy Technician-in-training with certification obtained within 30 days and license within 12 months.

Schedule: 7AM-3PM, 3PM-11PM (rotation of shifts), rotating every 3rd weekend. Employment type: Full-time. Seniority level: Internship. Industry: Hospitals and Health Care.
