Job summary

Marinahospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacist in unit-dose, sterile admixture, and floor stock operations. You will fill physician orders for oral, rectal, topical and injectable medications and assist with aseptic IV preparations under the Pharmacist's supervision.

Qualifications include a Vocational/Technical Diploma and licensure requirements, plus knowledge of math and chemistry. A California Pharmacy Tech license is required upon hire; Day Shift: 6:00AM-2:30PM.

Qualifications

• Two years college with knowledge of math and chemistry.
• Completion of formal education and training from an accredited institution leading to or required for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Fill physician orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical and injectable use.

• Prepare and file charge slips; types labels; perform other related duties under supervision.

The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacist and/or Pharmacy Department. The technician has primary responsibility in the unit-dose, sterile admixture, and floor stock areas under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. Assists the pharmacist by filling physician orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical and injectable use; mixes IV admixture solutions as required using aseptic technique; types labels, prepares and files charge slips and performs other related duties. All duties are performed under the guidance and supervision of the Pharmacist. Pharmacist check of all technician work involved in the preparation and/or dispensing of drugs. Job duties may vary depending on pharmacy unit assigned.

Day Shift: 6:00AM-2:30PM

Qualifications

• Education: Vocational/Technical Diploma. Completion of formal education and training from an accredited institution leading to or required for licensure. Two years college with knowledge of math and chemistry.

• Experience: 6 months Pharmacy technician experience – preferred

• Licenses and Certifications: Pharmacy Tech License - Upon Hire minimum; Current California State Board of Pharmacy technician license
