Job summary

Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, KY, a 61-bed independent non-profit facility, seeks a Pharmacy Technician. You will handle prescription processing, labeling, dispensing support, and inventory management under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.

The role requires a Kentucky Board of Pharmacy registration and completion of PTCB exams within 1 year, with strong customer service and basic computer skills. This is a full-time, first-shift position with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registered by Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.
• Must successfully complete the National Certification Examinations administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, and the Certification must be current and on display in Pharmacy within 1 year of hire date.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Computer experience is preferred.
• Prior pharmacy tech experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient name, date of birth, prescriber, and address for the prescription to be filled.
• Obtains drug name or RX number of the prescription(s) to be refilled.
• Enters information into the computer to generate labels for prescriptions.
• Retrieves appropriate medication from stock.
• Counts tablets/capsules or pours liquids in appropriate quantities.
• Places medications in containers and attaches labels.
• Assists pharmacists in preparing and reconstituting medications.
• Answers/directs telephone calls to the pharmacists.
• Enters information to process electronic third-party insurance claims for prescriptions.
• Assists pharmacists by re-ordering items for both prescription and OTC departments.
• Manages inventory and restocks supplies.
