The Hometown Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in prescription processing, medication labeling, and patient data entry. You will help with inventory, dispensing, and communications with patients and providers in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates bring attention to detail, good communication, and a commitment to accuracy, with or without CPhT certification. The role emphasizes teamwork, continues education, and maintaining a clean, compliant workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with preparation and processing of prescriptions.
  • Locate, count, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification.
  • Enter patient information and medication orders into the pharmacy system.
  • Assist with daily prescription filling and cycle filling.
  • Answer and screen incoming telephone calls and direct questions appropriately.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, healthcare facilities, prescribers, and representatives.
  • Assist with obtaining prescription refill authorizations by phone or fax.
  • Prepare prescription labels, MARs, delivery lists, and other documentation.
  • Utilize pharmacy software, technology, and packaging equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management including ordering, receiving, stocking, and organizing medications and supplies.
  • Check in incoming medication and supplies and ensure stock is appropriate.
  • Monitor inventory and remove expired medications.
  • Assist with returns and inventory counts.
  • Maintain contingency medication supplies.
  • Ensure owed medications are filled and resolved promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists and team members to maintain workflow.
  • Provide friendly, professional service to patients and partners.

What You’ll Do
