Job summary

Signature Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician, Float to support pharmacists across locations. You will assist with prescription filling, data entry, labeling, and sales to patients while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

You must hold an Ohio Pharmacy Technician license with AHA-BLS certification and bring 1+ years in retail customer service; 3-5+ years in pharmacy tech is preferred. The position requires strong computer skills and a commitment to patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid, unencumbered Ohio Pharmacy Technician licensure required; national certification preferred.
• 1+ years' customer service experience in retail; 3-5+ years' Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer skills (e.g., Windows, Outlook, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in stages of the prescription filling process, including data entry, packaging and labeling prescriptions, and completing the sale of prescriptions to patients at Signature Health Pharmacy locations.
• Coordinate the shipment and delivery of pharmacy orders to patients.
• Complete medication inventory tasks: ordering, receiving, storing, counting, and paperwork.
• Provide high quality customer service and answer pharmacy-related inquiries in person and on the phone.
• Maintain patient and prescription records, document thoroughly, and transmit third-party insurance claims.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and follow policy for errors and QC program.
• Assist with pharmacy maintenance: ensure supplies are stocked and area is clean and orderly.
• Adhere to Signature Health policies and state/federal laws; perform other duties as assigned.

SCOPE OF ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician, Float will assist the Pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications. The Pharmacy Technician, Float will support pharmacy operations by providing coverage across all Signature Health Pharmacy locations. The Pharmacy Technician, Float will ensure maintenance of drug inventory, patient and pharmacy records in a manner consistent with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as pharmacy policies and procedures. The Pharmacy Technician, Float will deliver exceptional customer service and positively impact the lives of others by ensuring accurate and timely completion of prescriptions and resolution of medication related inquiries while demonstrating a strong sense of urgency and security.

HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED

• Assist the pharmacist in stages of the prescription filling process, including data entry, packaging and labeling prescriptions, and completing the sale of prescriptions to patients at various Signature Health Pharmacy locations as scheduled by pharmacy scheduling coordinator(s).
• Coordinate the shipment and delivery of pharmacy orders to patients.
• Complete medication inventory tasks in the pharmacy, including ordering, receiving, storing, counting, and filling out all necessary paperwork.
• Provide high quality customer service and answer license level appropriate pharmacy related inquiries in person and on the phone.
• Maintain patient and prescription records, complete comprehensive documentation, and accurately transmit third party insurance claims.
• Report, immediately, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the quality improvement program.
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the pharmacy is stocked with adequate supplies and is clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance.
• Adhere to all Signature Health policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pharmacy Technician, Float (Finance)

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid, unencumbered Registered or Certified Pharmacy Technician licensure in the state of Ohio required. National certification preferred.
• 1+ years' of customer service experience in a retail setting required; 3-5+ years' of Pharmacy Technician experience in a retail setting preferred.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
• While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
• Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work.
• Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
• Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
• Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
• Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.
• Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
• Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
