Job summary

Signature Health, Inc. is seeking a full-time Courier, Pharmacy to deliver medications and pharmacy products to patients' homes, serving as a liaison between the Pharmacy team and Signature Health patients with urgency and care.

You will ensure safe, timely transport, handle medications properly, follow HIPAA guidelines, and communicate with patients to confirm deliveries while upholding Signature Health policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid unencumbered Ohio drivere9s license and proof of drivere9s insurance required.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. on occasion required.
• 1+ years' experience in transporting biological, sensitive or important items preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer skills (Windows, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Deliver medications and/or products between Signature Health locations as scheduled.
• Deliver medications to clients' homes with urgency and courtesy.
• Handle medication movement carefully to avoid temperature extremes.
• Communicate with patients or caregivers to confirm deliveries and provide direct delivery to recipients.
• Follow HIPAA and all policies for medication handling and record-keeping.
• Maintain up-to-date training on safety and security guidelines for medications.

SCOPE OF ROLE

Reporting to the Supervisor, Couriers- Pharmacy, the Courier, Pharmacy is responsible for the delivery of Pharmacy medications and/or products as assigned. The Courier, Pharmacy will act as a liaison between the Pharmacy team and Signature Health patients by delivering medications to the client's home demonstrating a strong sense of urgency. The Courier, Pharmacy will deliver exceptional customer service and positively impact the lives of others through accurate and efficient completion of pharmacy deliveries.

HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED

• Actively fulfill courier needs between various Signature Health locations as scheduled by your Supervisor.
• Ensure timely, cautious, and accurate transport of all required deliveries in an efficient and courteous manner.
• Carefully handle all movement of Pharmacy items from the office to the vehicle and from the vehicle to the patient, taking care to avoid prolonged exposure of medications to temperature extremes.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients and caregivers to alert them of scheduled deliveries and provide deliveries directly to patients or designated recipients.
• Follow all Signature Health policies and procedures for medication handling including: proper storage of medications, safety and security while transporting medications, maintaining auditable records of transactions, and complying with all aspects of HIPAA and patient's right to privacy while delivering, inputting, and verifying patient information.
• Maintain up-to-date training in appropriate safety and security guidelines around handling pharmaceutical medications.
• Maintain excellent performance in quality, patient experience, and availability to patients of the pharmacy.
• Analyze, read and follow maps and directions to client locations in a time-efficient manner, following all traffic and safety laws.
• Adhere to all Signature Health policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
• While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
• Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work.
• Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
• Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
• Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
• Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds, unassisted.
• Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
• Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
