Job summary

Safeway is hiring a Pharmacy Technician in a fast-paced, patient‑focused environment. You will process prescriptions, enter data, and prepare medications under the supervision of a pharmacist, while handling customer questions and enabling smooth pharmacy operations.

You will maintain records, restock supplies, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Comfort with standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ (or 18+ depending on location) and eligible to work in the US.
• Current Board of Pharmacy registration or licensure required where applicable.
• Ability to operate pharmacy systems and basic math calculations.
• Successful completion of required pharmacy training programs and technician development requirements.
• HIPAA familiarity and knowledge of pharmacy procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions, enter data, and prepare medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Assist with customer questions, transactions, and directing clinical questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness, manage records, and restock supplies while complying with regulations.
