Job summary

Forum Extended Care Services in Chicago, IL is seeking a Pharmacy Filling Technician for 1st shift (7:00 am to 3:30 pm) at Northern IL Pharmacy. You will accurately retrieve, count, measure, prepare, package, and label medications and non-sterile compounds.

The ideal candidate holds a current unencumbered license as Pharmacy Technician (LPhT/CPhT in IL) and has experience in long-term care or hospital pharmacy, with strong math and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered license in IL: Pharmacic Technician (LPhT/CPhT).
• Excellent math, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills required.
• Experience in long-term care or hospital pharmacy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve, count, measure, prepare, package, and label medications and non-sterile compounds.
• Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment.
• Comply with government regulations, standards, policies, and patient protocols.
• Assist in maintaining inventory and supplies at work stations.
• Assist in resolving facility/patient problems under emergencies.
• Participate in quality improvement programs to meet standards.

Qualifications

What you'll do as a Pharmacy Filling Technician

• Operate and properly maintain pharmacy equipment related to job duties.
• Comply with all applicable government regulations, standards of practice, company policies, procedures, and patient protocols.
• Assist in maintaining and managing inventory and supplies as they relate to work stations.
• Assist in resolving facility/patient problems under emergency conditions.
• Take part in quality improvement programs to meet company and accreditation standards.

What we need

• Current unencumbered license in the state of practice: Certified Pharmacy Technician (certification not required for Illinois Pharmacy Technicians licensed before 2008).
• Experience in long‑term care or hospital pharmacy preferred.
• Excellent math, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills required.
• Every other weekend and 3 holidays per year required.
