Job summary

Polaris Pharmacy Services in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a Night Shift Pharmacy Fill Technician to accurately prepare prescriptions, label, scan, and finalize for pharmacist verification. You will help maintain an organized workspace and ensure compliance with regulations.

You will support daily drug orders, assist with returns and stocking, and help ensure efficient processing while adhering to safety and quality standards, with opportunities for growth and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice.
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred (one or more years of long‑term care experience preferred).

Responsibilities

• Pull medications from shelving and other medication storage areas.
• Accuracy check of final preparation before presenting to the pharmacist.
• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure.
• Assist in pre‑packing frequently ordered medications; label and stock as needed.
• Package materials and products manually.
• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
• Maintain clean/organized workstation areas and replenish stock supplies.
• Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly.
• Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Fill Technician accurately prepares prescriptions, including the careful picking, labeling, scanning, and final preparation of prescriptions for the pharmacist's verification. Additionally, they assist in maintaining a well‑organized workspace and ensure compliance with regulations.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas (pre‑pack racks)
• Accuracy check of final preparation before presenting to the pharmacist
• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently and in a timely and prioritized manner, under the supervision of a pharmacist
• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure
• Assist in pre‑packing frequently ordered medications; label and stock as needed during low‑volume times
• Package materials and products manually
• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
• Maintain clean/organized workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed each shift
• Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly
• Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
• Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected
• Other duties as assigned; Job duties may vary depending on business needs

• May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day
• The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, walk
• May be necessary to work extended hours as needed
