Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy of Indiana in Indianapolis is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to enter and process prescriptions with speed and accuracy. You will triage faxes, verify dosages, and maintain notes in the system while delivering top-tier service to customers.

The role requires a Pharmacy Technician license/certification, 2+ years of experience, and the ability to work a schedule that includes weekends and overtime. Emphasis on accuracy, teamwork, and contributing to patient care.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience).
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines.
• Great attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holiday and overtime.
• High School Diploma or GED; Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration; National Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter new and refill prescriptions into operating system accurately and timely.
• Triage incoming fax prescriptions for timely dispensing.
• Maintain proper notes in computer system and cycle fill coding.
• Calculate/verify correct dosage based on prescriptions.
• Respond to customer calls with care and route to appropriate staff.
• Receive, evaluate, and follow up with doctors on refills; ensure completed orders.
• Develop proficiency in all pharmacy systems and assist with filing and cycle orders as needed.
• Meet delivery deadlines and assist with inventory and order processing when required.

Route calls as appropriate to ensure top level serviceEnsure all prescriptions assigned for processing are completed in regular shiftReceive, evaluate, process and follow-up as needed with doctors’ offices on all refills assignedDevelop proficiency in the utilization of all pharmacy systems (ie document imaging, legacy pharmacy computer operating system)On an as needed, may assist with filing of completed orders, packaging of medications, inventory, profiling of orders for medical records, and filling processed prescriptions to dispense to the patientDevelop and learn cycle in order to meet delivery deadlines.
