Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:30-6, Rotating Saturdays (Every 9-10 weeks)

Responsible for entering and processing prescriptions into the pharmacy operating system with both speed and accuracy. Communicates with customers on the telephone and responds quickly and courteously to their needs.

Essential Job Functions

• Enter new and refill prescriptions into operating system accurately and timely
• Triage incoming fax prescriptions for timely dispensing
• Ensure proper notes in computer and cycle fill coding
• Calculate and verify correct dosage based on prescriptions
• Respond to customer calls with courtesy and understanding, routing calls appropriately
• Complete all assigned prescriptions within shift
• Follow-up with doctors’ offices on refills, evaluate, and process as needed
• Develop proficiency in pharmacy systems (document imaging, legacy systems)
• Assist with filing, packaging, inventory, profiling, and dispensing as needed
• Maintain data entry records for cycle medication, fill requests, and renewals

Minimum Education and Certifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (state-specific); National Certification preferred (PTCB)

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong computer skills; pharmacy system experience preferred
