Job summary

Kroger is seeking a pharmacy clerk to provide exceptional customer service and assist pharmacists with health and wellness services in a safe, inclusive environment. You will handle dispensing support, inventory management, cashier duties, and patient interaction while adhering to HIPAA and company policies.

The role involves orderly reception, data entry, adjudication support, and collaborative work in a high-paced store setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Meets minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.

Responsibilities

• Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
• Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation and safety regulations/guidelines/procedures.
• Understand and perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
• Follow guidelines on computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of medications, devices, supplements and supplies.
• Maintain clean and organized work stations and customer waiting areas.
• Count, measure and prepare specified product using best practices.
• Complete billing procedures adequately to assure best value to the customer and the company.
• Answer phone and triage calls and inquiries as appropriate.
• Adhere to guidelines on accepting and tendering vendor coupons, cash shortages and shrink guidelines.
• Operate cash register and follow cashier policies to prevent loss, including EFTs and cash transactions.
• Provide stellar customer experience while completing reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
• Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring pharmacist judgment.
• Adhere to HIPAA and company policies regarding patient information.
• Support company health and wellness initiatives.
• Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries.
• Work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environments.
• Manage conflict in a professional manner.
• Be honest and maintain integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues.
• Interact with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
