Job summary

Shields Health Solutions is seeking a Patient Outreach Coordinator (Pharmacy Technician) to proactively grow the specialty pharmacy patient population by making outbound calls and enrolling eligible patients in Shields Partner Pharmacy. You will educate patients on the program and ensure confidentiality while working CST hours, Mon–Fri.

The role requires an active Texas Pharmacy Technician License with national certification (PTCB/ExCPT), 2+ years of pharmacy tech experience, and strong

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; patient focus.
• Ability to work an 8-hour shift Mon-Fri CST.

Responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to educate and enroll patients in Shields Partner Pharmacy.
• Review EMR/chart notes before outbound calls.
• Identify medications requiring special handling or storage.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Patient Outreach Coordinator (Pharmacy Technician Cold Calls)

Required: Active Texas Pharmacy Technician License and National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB/ExCPT)

Schedule: 8 hour shift between 8:30AM - 7:00PM CST, Monday - Friday.

Job Purpose:

• Proactively grow the specialty pharmacy patient population by making outbound phone calls to eligible patients and enrolling them with Shields Partner Pharmacy
• Educate patients on the services offered by the Shields Specialty Pharmacy Program
• Protect Shields values by keeping information confidential

Job Duties:

• Communicate with patient over the phone and provide them the compelling reason why the Shields Partner Pharmacy program is superior to any other comprehensive pharmacy care model.
• Access patient's EMR and review chart notes prior to outbound call to ensure familiarity with patient's condition and situation.
• Identify medications requiring special storage and/or handling such as hazardous medications and/or refrigerated medication.
• Identify supplies necessary for select medications such as sharps containers, needles/syringes, alcohol swabs and band-aids.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Prior customer service experience / outbound call experience.

What You Need:

• 2+ years of experience as a pharmacy technician; High School Diploma or GED
• Strong communication, organization, and tech skills
• Empathy, integrity, and a team-first mindset

Solid computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for communication, documentation, and data management, as well as, navigating the internet and web-based platforms. Data entry and computer skills will be evaluated through an assessment as part of the pre-employment process.
