Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin has an opening for a Pharmacy Technician – Clinical at Capitol Clinic in Madison, WI. This 1.0 FTE position supports pharmacists in delivering professional pharmacy services within GHC-SCW clinics under supervision of the Clinical Pharmacist and Program Manager.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient care workflows, inventory control, order entry, and documentation while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program desirable.
• Valid Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from PTCB.
• Pharmacy experience required.
• Ability to use computer-based applications and pharmacy/EMR systems.
• Knowledge of medical records, documentation, and HIPAA requirements.

• Assist pharmacists in the provision of professional pharmacy services in GHC-SCW clinics.
• Work under the supervision of the Clinical Pharmacist and Clinical Pharmacist Program Manager.
• Maintain accuracy in order entry, inventory control, billing, and record keeping.

Pharmacy Technician – Clinical assists pharmacists in the provision of professional pharmacy services in GHC-SCW clinics. The Pharmacy Technician - Clinical works under the general guidance and daily supervision of the Clinical Pharmacist and the Clinical Pharmacist Program Manager.

JOB SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program is desirable.
• Valid Certification as a Pharmacy Techni cian (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
• Pharmacy experience is required.
• Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and use computer based applications such as MS Office, pharmacy and electronic medical record systems.
• Ability to use or learn to use computers for order entry, inventory control, billing and record keeping.
• Knowledge of medical records and appropriate documentation requirements.
• Knowledge of basic math and algebra. Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and consult with patients, practitioners and internal staff.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety and /or infection control standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak and listen in person and on the phone.
• Excellent customer service skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to be culturally sensitive and work with a diverse patient population and workforce.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and problem solve.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
• Ability to work as member of a team and to maintain good working relationships with patients and staff.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Knowledge of medical records and appropriate documentation requirements. Knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
• Ability to adhere to department and position’s punctuality and attendance standards.
• Ability to provide own transportation to various work locations, as needed.
