Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support a pharmacist in dispensing prescriptions at Clements Ferry Infusion. Responsibilities include stocking supplies, preparing doses per USP 797, labeling and packing routine orders, and performing light clerical tasks.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, 2 years of pharmacy experience, SCBOP registration, and PTCB or ExCPT certification.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree or Equivalent.
• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician by the SC Board of Pharmacy and maintain certification (PTCB or ExCPT).
• Two years of work experience in a pharmacy setting.

Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP)is required and must be maintained. Must obtain and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)) certification:

• Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 1 year of 11/1/2023.
• New Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 6 months of hire.
• New team members who are enrolled or will enroll ina pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and/or recognized by PTCB, have 30 days post program completion to obtain certification.
