The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Pharmaceutical Care, is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician, certified or trainee to work in our Acute Care, Satellite Pharmacy. This position operates under general pharmacist supervision, coordinating and performing technical activities in dispensing areas. Under the supervision of the technician supervisor, the role supports development, coordination, and training of assigned areas, with functional supervision as needed. The shift hours are from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am, Sunday through Thursday.
The Department of Pharmaceutical Care intends to hire either the Pharmacy Technician, Trainee classification, or Pharmacy Technician, Certified, depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Please specify in your application which position you are applying for or both.
Ability to calculate ratios & proportions for pharmaceutical needs, demonstrated by a work sample.
Experience with inventory maintenance, team environments, detail-oriented work, Windows-based programs, and healthcare settings involving patient interaction. A Silver Level National Career Readiness Certificate is preferred.
