Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with dispensing activities and inventory control.
• Maintain daily pharmacy operations: answering phones, assisting at the window, entering charges, stocking orders, keeping area clean.
• Perform sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounding.
• Utilize Lawson, McKesson, Omnicell systems including AWS and CPM.
• Perform monthly clinic unit inspections.
• Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure safe medication storage.
• Deliver excellent customer service.

Position Overview

Pay range: $15.00 - $23.55 / hour

Shift: full-time AM

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Highlights

Working with pharmacists, pharmacy team, and clinic staff to provide safe and accurate medications to ambulatory patients at UAB. Performing daily technician activities including:

• Assist pharmacists with dispensing activities and inventory control
• Maintain the daily operations within the pharmacy to include answering phones, assisting individuals at the pharmacy window, entering charges for medications, receiving and stocking drug orders, and maintaining cleanliness of assigned area
• Perform sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounding
• Utilizing technology such as Lawson Production System, McKesson, and Omnicell- including Anesthesia Work Stations (AWS) and Central Pharmacy Manager (CPM)
• Performing monthly clinic unit inspections
• Collaboration with our clinic staff to assure safe medication storage practices
• Delivering excellent customer service

Job Description

To perform duties in the pharmacy department that do not require a licensed professional including processing and delivering medication, ordering and issuing products and receiving and ordering supplies. To prepare sterile products. May perform various administrative duties as necessary.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required. Currently registered or eligible to be registered as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern/extern by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required. Active registration will be required prior to date of hire. Currently certified as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or other nationally recognized and accredited certification program requiring examination.
