Your Job: The Pharmacy Technician will assist in performing paraprofessional tasks to ensure high-quality pharmacy service. Supports the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.

Your Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• IV certification preferred
• Registered technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Intern License
• 1 year of Pharmacy experience required
• Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred
• Computer skills preferred, but not required
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and patient privacy standards

Your Job Responsibilities:

• Answer the telephone and front window.
• Compound products in IV Lab using sterile, aseptic technique.
• Gather items needed for requisitions, orders, crash carts, etc., for pharmacist review.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area; restock medications and supplies.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and notify purchasing when items are low or usage increases.
• Maintain drug storage systems through restocking and troubleshooting.
• Conduct unit inspections outside the department.
• Make scheduled and unscheduled rounds to nursing units for medication delivery and pickup.
• Perform charges and credits for various medication sheets and returned medications into the computer system.
• Process medications in assigned areas in preparation for final dispensing.
• Train new employees as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
