Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician, under the Pharmacist's supervision and according to established policies and procedures, assists with the medication distribution system.

Description

• Fill medication orders and prepare them for Pharmacist review.
• Assist in reconciliation of missing orders and doses, and complete documentation.
• Deliver and retrieve medications to and from patient care areas.
• Maintain inventory, restock supplies, and ensure proper storage of medications.
• Operate pharmacy systems and equipment such as Cerner, Omnicell, and robot for medication preparation.
• Prepare IV medications following USP 797 and 800 guidelines.
• Participate in quality assurance and maintain a clean environment.
• Assist with packaging medications and managing inventory levels.
• Communicate with pharmacy staff and other departments effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician Certification.
• One year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Licenses, Certifications & Clearances

• Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check.

Position Details

• Entry level, part-time position.
• Schedule based on operational needs, may include rotating shifts, standby, and on-call.
• No direct supervisory responsibilities but serves as a mentor.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
