Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin, is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to join our rapidly growing team. You will handle facility orders, answer questions, and triage calls to the appropriate departments, supporting the delivery of customized medication management.

The role requires strong attention to detail, ability to work in a busy environment, and excellent communication with facilities, doctors, and residents.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience).
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines.
• Ability to solve problems with minimal direction.
• Great attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines.
• Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate.

Responsibilities

• Answering phone calls from facilities in a timely manner while being professional and courteous.
• Creating telephone orders for refills, new orders, and triaging into appropriate queues for Order Entry staff to complete.
• Refill orders in pharmacy computer system if facility calls and request (if not complicated).
• Follow up with customers as needed (if you told a customer you would return their phone call, call them back in a timely manner).
• Answering facility questions or referring them to the proper resource for answer.
• Take Credit Card information over the phone for payments.
• Work with Medical Records to update on resident information, or anything else that is changed. Make telephone orders for medical records and send to appropriate queues for medical records.
• Take orders from Doctor’s offices and triaging to appropriate queues.
• Check assigned facility faxes daily; any issues, contact Order Entry
• Link delivery sheets into Docutrack.
• Check original prescriptions sent in tote or by mail, scan into Docutrack and link. If they haven’t been completed leave note for OE to address.
• Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed
