Job summary

Walgreens is hiring a Pharmacy Technician or Apprentice to be at the forefront of patient care, interacting with customers and supporting pharmacist duties. The role emphasizes learning through an ASHP/DOL-recognized apprenticeship program and advancing toward PTCB certification.

Training will cover pharmacy systems, prescription processing, and customer service, with opportunities to grow within the Walgreens pharmacy team and develop clinical skills.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule (evenings/weekends).
• Six months of experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Prior Walgreens experience preferred.
• Good math skills for counting, measuring and weighing medications.
• Good computer skills; familiarity with pharmacy systems helpful.
• Knowledge of store inventory control and PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in dispensing and related duties.
• Enter patient and drug information in pharmacy systems and process prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists with scheduling, workflow, and cash register operations.
• Provide a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Support inventory management and maintain compliance with policies.
