Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Technician or Apprentice to join our team in California. You’ll engage customers, assist pharmacists, and learn through an ASHP/DOL-recognized training program to become a certified pharmacy technician.

Training covers pharmacy systems, prescription processing, and customer care, with opportunities to grow and earn while you learn. This role emphasizes patient care and community health in a retail setting.

Qualifications

Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings/weekends.
Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
Prefer to have prior Walgreens experience.
Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
Prefer good computer skills and store inventory control knowledge.
Prefer PTCB certification.

Responsibilities

Assist the pharmacist under supervision in pharmacy duties and policy.
Operate pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Provide a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Support inventory management, ordering, receiving and storage of pharmaceuticals.
Handle cash and assist with point-of-sale and OTC guidance.
Participate in training to earn PTCB certification and continuing education.
