Job summary

Walgreens is transforming its pharmacy technician roles to be more patient-centric, with training programs and pathways toward PTCB certification. As a Pharmacy Technician or Apprentice, you will interact with customers, learn on-the-job, and support pharmacists in clinical and retail duties.

You’ll gain experience with pharmacy systems, prescription processing, and customer service in a fast-paced setting, while developing skills through a structured training program supported by Walgreens.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Six months of experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Prior Walgreens experience preferred.
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
• Good computer skills preferred.
• Knowledge of store inventory control preferred.
• PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy.
• Use pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring medications; verify accuracy and check for interactions.
• Support pharmacy operations and maintain workflow as directed by management.
• Register sales at the cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist with inventory management and coordination with healthcare providers where applicable.
