Job summary

Walgreens is transforming pharmacy technician roles toward patient-centric care. Technicians and apprentices work closely with pharmacists, learn through an ASHP/DOL-recognized program, and pursue PTCB certification to advance within Walgreens.

Training emphasizes hands-on experience and clinical service support. Newcomers and experienced techs alike are guided to develop skills in pharmacy systems, patient data handling, and customer service while contributing to daily operations and service

Qualifications

Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Six months of experience in a retail environment (preferred).
Prior Walgreens experience (preferred).
Good math skills for counting, measuring and weighing medications.
Good computer skills.
Knowledge of store inventory control (preferred).
PTCB certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision and in accordance with regulations.
Process prescriptions using pharmacy systems and coach staff if certified.
Deliver a distinctive customer experience.
Enter patient and drug information and verify prescription accuracy.
Handle cash and assist customers to locate OTC products.
Assist with inventory management and clerical duties.
Support clinical services and relationships with local medical community.
