Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join its ambulatory pharmacy program within the Hemostasis and Thrombosis initiative. The role supports clinical pharmacists to manage anticoagulant, antiplatelet, and hemostatic therapies in the clinic.

Responsibilities include assisting with anticoagulation care, documenting INR results, preparing patient charts in the EHR, triaging calls, and aiding with prescription claims and affordability issues.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• License/Certifications: Current or eligible for state pharmacy technician license; CPhT preferred.
• Experience: Six months of experience as a licensed pharmacy technician.

This position is full time, no weekends.

Summary

Within MaineHealth's ambulatory pharmacy program, the pharmacy technician will be a part of our growing Hemostasis and Thrombosis program. In this role, the pharmacy technician will help clinical pharmacists provide medication therapy for anticoagulant, antiplatelet, and hemostatic agents.

Some core functions include:

• Assists clinical pharmacists with core functions of anticoagulation care within the clinic.
• Provides appropriate healthcare education and follows protocols related to specific clinics.
• Prepares and maintains patient charts for each encounter within the electronic health record.
• Ensures proper documentation of INR results, patient contact via telephone, and any other pertinent information regarding patient care.
• Triages phone calls and refers to appropriate providers.
• Assists with processing of prescription claims and investigation into patient affordability, as needed.
• Provides direct patient care and specimen collection within the scope of practice in the State of Maine.
• Maintains a clean work environment and follows all MaineHealth standards for fire, safety, and infection prevention.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. License/Certifications: Current or eligible for applicable state(s) license as a Pharmacy Technician. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred.
3. Experience: Six months of experience as a licensed pharmacy technician.

The base range is an estimate and does not reflect the full value of our total compensation package.

The pay range for this position is $21.09 to $27.12 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full‑time equivalent (FTE).
