Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (Admixture) to join our team.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program.
• Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB preferred).
• 2+ years of pharmacy experience with sterile compounding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and compound medications, including IV admixtures and chemotherapy, under supervision.
• Review medication orders for accuracy, completeness, and authorization.
• Verify insurance approvals before preparing medications.
• Accurately calculate dosages and conversions (metric/apothecary systems).
• Maintain inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
• Keep detailed logs (temperature, controlled substances, protocol drugs, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety guidelines for medication handling and disposal.
• Clean and maintain sterile compounding environments (hoods, equipment).
• Stay current with new medications and protocols.
• Travel between locations as needed.

Are you passionate about patient care and ready to make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer? Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers is looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician (Admixture) to join our team in our Scottsdale location.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare and compound medications, including IV admixtures and chemotherapy, under supervision
• Review medication orders for accuracy, completeness, and authorization

What We're Looking For:

• 2+ years of pharmacy experience, including sterile compounding (IV admixture and/or chemotherapy)
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and pharmaceutical terminology
• Solid math and dosage calculation skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Ability to interpret prescriptions and follow protocols accurately
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Oncology experience
• Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB preferred)
• Experience with inventory control, purchasing, and dispensing systems
• Retail pharmacy experience (a plus)
• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
