Job summary

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in Gilbert, AZ seeks an experienced Pharmacy Technician (Admixture) to join our team. You will prepare and compound medications, including IV admixtures and chemotherapy, review orders for accuracy, and verify insurance approvals.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of pharmacy experience with sterile compounding, strong aseptic technique, precise dosage calculations, and excellent teamwork.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of pharmacy experience with sterile compounding (IV admixture and/or chemotherapy).
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and pharmaceutical terminology.
• Solid math and dosage calculation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and compound medications, including IV admixtures and chemotherapy, under supervision.
• Review medication orders for accuracy, completeness, and authorization.
• Verify insurance approvals before preparing medications.
• Accurately calculate dosages and conversions (metric/apothecary systems).
• Maintain inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
• Keep detailed logs (temperature, controlled substances, protocol drugs, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety guidelines for medication handling and disposal.
• Clean and maintain sterile compounding environments (hoods, equipment).
• Stay current with new medications and protocols.
• Travel between locations as needed.
