Qualifications

• Active registration with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
• 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred for Tech I.

Overview

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications, and is accountable to the supervising pharmacist for the care and safety of patients. They follow applicable standards and laws for the safety of customers and patients.

Qualifications

Tech I:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Licensure: Active registration with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willingness to apply by the first day, including submitting fingerprints for FBI background check
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required
• Other: Completion of pharmacy department orientation
• Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge and use of equipment, including robotic dispensing and automated cabinets
• Proficiency with pharmacy automation systems and workflow management
• Initial troubleshooting skills for pharmacy technology
• Ability to work under time constraints

Tech II:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Licensure: Active registration with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy, in good standing, or willingness to apply by the first day, including FBI background check
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by PTCB
• Skills and Abilities:
• Advanced knowledge and use of pharmacy equipment and automation
• Proficiency with pharmacy automation systems and workflow management
• Ability to troubleshoot pharmacy technology
