Job description

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacy Department with a variety of inpatient and outpatient tasks. Key responsibilities include:

• Intravenous product preparation
• Unit dose cartfill
• Inventory management
• Automated and decentralized medication stocking (Pyxis)
• Outpatient prescriptions

Technicians receive specific internal training for each task before they are authorized to perform the work independently.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Active technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy or active registration as a pharmacy intern in MN while concurrently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy.
• For newly registered technicians or interns without 240‑hour certification, completion of 240 hours of theoretical and practical training on‑site within 12 months of hire.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required, or completion of certification within 12 months of hire. An active pharmacy intern registration may be accepted in lieu of CPhT certification.
• Prior pharmacy technician experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The posted salary represents a market‑competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Salaries are based on full‑time employment (40 standard hours per week). Part‑time positions are prorated. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on‑call work may receive shift differentials or premium pay. All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S. Government Form I‑9, Employment Eligibility Verification.
