Job summary

Pharmacare in Addison, TX is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations under the supervision of a pharmacist. The role involves preparing medications for dispensing, inventory management, sterile and non-sterile compounding, and maintaining a compliant, efficient LTC pharmacy environment.

The ideal candidate holds current state registration as a Pharmacy Technician with preferred CPhT and IV certification.

Qualifications

• Current state registration as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
• IV certification preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.

Responsibilities

• Enter prescription and physician order data into the pharmacy’s data processing system.
• Pull stock bottles and prepare medications for packaging and dispensing.
• Affix prescription and auxiliary labels to medication containers.
• Reconstitute medications as required.
• Package and label pre-packaged medications.
• Assemble and audit emergency kits.
• Perform sterile and non‑sterile compounding in accordance with regulations and best practices.
• Procure and stock pharmaceuticals and ancillary supplies.
• Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
• Support maintenance of pharmacy equipment, environmental controls, cleanliness, and organization.
• Utilize pharmacy operating systems, digital imaging software, automated dispensing systems, and Microsoft applications.
• Participate in scheduling, coordination, and preparation of medication deliveries.
• Assist with training newly hired technicians and student externs as assigned.
• Support auditing of patient records as needed.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Promote teamwork, communication, and a positive work environment.
• Ensure patient and resident safety at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Summary
